DASH-N0-SPLASH 2025

Thank you for playing the 23 rd annual KICK OFF DASH-N-Splash tourney. Unfortunately, this year the pool is still being repaired after major foundation and plumbing damage. Hence the No Splash title this year. This tourney is owned and operated by the Deseret Peak Girls Softball league and sanctioned by USSSA sports.

Welcome to USSSA Fastpitch and 55 years of nationwide SANCTIONED events. The USSSA (Utrip) tourney app is for use ONLY during tournament play. Please DOWNLOAD the USSSA tournament App for FREE from Google or Apple and then search event name AND open the internet link below. You can also use the website at the end of this memo.

If you need any lodging, please feel free to use the USSSA EXPEDIA HOTEL LINK 24/7 ANY REASON, ANYWHERE, ANYTIME, just edit the location. https://utfastpitch.usssa.com/lodging/

This is a SANCTIONED event, there are four sanctioning bodies in Utah, Idaho and Nevada. They are NFHS (aka High School Federation), USA/ASA, USSSA (aka UTrip) and Little League.

We are proud to offer you quality products as a sanctioning body. We have our own Rule Book, manage as a public governing board, have an independent national Office, and provide full liability insurance for Teams, Umpires, Facilities and Tournaments

TOURNAMENT RULES

PLEASE pass along to your players, fans and especially relatives that come to cheer.

The Tournament committee will rule on all protests, except rule interpretations. The Umpire in chief will rule on rule interpretations. The Tournament committee reserves the right to make rulings not specifically covered herein which are deemed to be in the best interest of the tournament. All decisions of the tournament committee are final.

For Recreation divisions of the Dash-No-Splash: The Tournament Committee will keep the integrity of Recreation teams by removing any team or player that is rostered anything other than Recreation. If a player has played in more than two accelerated club TOURNAMENTS after making an All-Star team and being rostered, she will be deemed ineligible for the Dash-No-Splash. The State Director may be consulted by the Tournament Committee about rostering reviews.

8 and UNDER

  • The coach that is pitching must have both feet on the pitching rubber at the start of the pitch. Each batter will receive 5 pitches or three swinging strikes, or whichever comes first. Base runners cannot steal bases.

  • 8 and under scoring: RUNNERS MUST BE HIT IN TO SCORE. No run shall be scored on a miss-played ball. Example: A runner at second base may advance to third on an infield hit but cannot score on a subsequent over-throw. If a base runner advances too far, they do so at risk of being put out, once play has stopped the umpire will return the runner to the last base that they were entitled to. Runners can ONLY SCORE on a BATTED BALL. (A batted ball becomes a live ball)
  • 6 runs per inning in pool games and bracket play.
  • Only one base advance (excluding home) will be allowed on an overthrow. One overthrow per pitch.
  • An Overthrow to the pitcher will not be considered an overthrow for base advancement.
  • The 8 and under rules are established to give the defense the maximum opportunity to make plays and develop their defensive skills while prohibiting the offence from exploiting the
